Caire Campaign’s First Fundraiser Wrap-up

Tallahassee, Fl - The Thure Caire Campaign for Ochlockonee River Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor, Group III held its first fundraiser Thursday June 21st. The event took place on the shores of Lake Sheelin at 6501 Alan A Dale, the home of Nancy Miller.

About fifty people attended including local activist Kathy Archibald, Leon County Democratic Executive Committee Chairman Rick Minor, City of Tallahassee Stormwater Management Division Director John Buss and Patrick Detscher, candidate for Leon County Commission, District V.

"I had a great time, it was worth the drive, said Jackson Summers, from Blountstown, "I'm glad to see Thure pursue this challenge. We need more politicians like Thure Caire."

The event exceeded the fundraising goal of $1,000. At the end of the night $1,250 had been donated to the Thure Caire Campaign. "This was wonderfully successful," said Thure Caire, "we had a great mix of people attend, and we had more guests and donations than I'd hoped for. Even the weather was perfect." Caire had been nervous when rain threatened moments before the largely outdoor event was set to begin.

Thure Caire was raised in Leon County and is the incumbent for ORSWCD Group III. Thure has more than six years of Water Quality experience, including work with a private water quality lab, the United State Geological Survey (USGS), the City of Tallahassee and independent research. Thure has an honors degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. For more information please visit the photo gallery page.
